Korean tech giant LG has started to capitalize on this shift. The company just recently announced their LG G Pad 8.3 offering.
LG G Pad 8.3
The new slate from LG is no more than 1 pound. It also features an 8.3-inch WUXGA display with 1920x1200 pixels. The tablet runs on a Qualcomm Snapdragon 600 1.7Ghz quad-core processor plus a 4600mAh battery. LG also announced that it will be including a 1.3MP front camera and 5MP rear camera.
The G Pad will come with Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean. It offers 2GB RAM and 16GB storage. Colors available are black and white.
Apple iPad Mini
Apple's iPad Mini has become the standard of tablets across the globe. It remains as one of the best selling slates this 2013. It has also surpassed sales for its cousin, the iPad 4. iPad Mini offers 512MB. Other features features include 7.9‑inch (diagonal) LED-backlit Multi‑Touch display with IPS technology, 1024x768 resolution and 163 pixels per inch (ppi). It also offers fingerprint-resistant oleophobic coating and runs on dual-core A5 chip.
Many sources agree that LG created the G Pad to compete directly with Apple's iPad Mini.
Nexus 7 (2013)
The first generation Nexus 7 was a success and Google wanted to replicate that. The new Nexus 7 features LED-backlit IPS LCD capacitive touch screen, 16M colors, 1200 x 1920 pixels, 7.0 inches display with 323 ppi pixel density, Corning Gorilla Glass and Android OS, v4.3 (Jelly Bean), upgradable to v4.3.1 (Jelly Bean). It runs on a Qualcomm Snapdragon S4Pro clocked at Quad-core 1.5 GHz Krait. It can last up to 9 hours. Its rear camera shoots at 5 megapixels.
