LG G Pad joins Samsung Galaxy Note 3 and other similar products in the tablet market. Featuring 1,920 x 1,200 pixel resolution similar to the Nexus 7 2013, it seems LG is bumping up its product line up. Can LG compete with the likes of Samsung?

As mentioned, the Korean tech manufacturer came up with a tablet offering resolution similar to the Nexus 7 2013. Other specs include quad-core processor plus 2 GB of RAM. The device also provides 16 GB internal storage capacity.

According to CNET's report, this is the first slate from LG featuring Full HD screen.

The tablet will run on the Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean. LG has not released a statement yet on whether the device will update to Android 4.4 KitKat. The update is possible once Android releases the OS mobile version of the operating system.

The tablet features a battery backup of 4,600 mAh. The device only weighs 338 grams making it an incredibly portable device. One downside though is the primary camera. It only shoots at 5 megapixels while the front camera only shoots at 1.3 megapixels.

LG's G Pad is very lightweight. Users can carry it with just one hand. Ray of Phone Arena described the device as "one of the very best IPS screens we have ever seen."

LG's G2 and the G Pad 8.3 share similar designs. It is evident from their structure that LG plans on releasing "related" products for a more coherent approach to the market. They also share a similar interface like pull down notifications. According to Android Central, it is possible to use QPair on the devices to have them interact with each other.

One of the main issues, however, is the pricing of the device. In order to compete with tech giants like Samsung, LG will have to work out a way to offer more affordable gadgets.

Samsung has been successful in penetrating both the smartphone and tablet markets. One of the its flagship devices, the Samsung Galaxy Note 3, managed to capture the attention of the market. It features 1,920 x 1,080 resolution, SD card for expandable memory along with 32 and 64 GB editions.
