Android has been gaining a massive loyal following throughout the years. Fortunately, the operating system has also gone through several updates offering better user experience and less fragmentation among devices. However, Google most often only introduces its new OS through flagship devices. Other device owners from third party manufacturers will have to wait for the roll-out to experience the update. Fortunately, for LG device owners, the company will be releasing the Android 4.4 KitKat update soon for LG G2, G Pad 8.3, G Flex and other devices.

With Samsung starting its update roll-out to its device and HTC claiming to do the same, LG will follow their steps soon. Part of the competition deals with offering the fastest update possible to deliver newer and better experience. LG Saudi Arabia has given hints on the much awaited update timeline. The company will be rolling out Android 4.4 KitKat to its devices by the end of January.

Phandroid reported that LG Saudi Arabia tweeted about the roll-out. However, the tweet has been deleted. Meanwhile, users in South Korea have received the update already. This is expected as Korea is the home turf of LG. People in other regions are still waiting for the roll-out though.

Despite the reported tweet, some analysts say it is best for people to wait for LG's official announcement in their region. It should be reassuring for users to know that LG promised to roll out the KitKat update by the first quarter of 2014. While some regions may have the update later than last week of January, they are expected to make it just in time for the first quarter deadline.

Android 4.4 KitKat offers a range of improvements including Immersive Mode (full screen), better switching to default messenger and more lucid interface. The status bar is also slightly different, although previously, LG's interface appears the same when upgraded to Jelly Bean.

Other devices getting the Android 4.4 KitKat update soon include:

  • Optimus F3
  • Optimus F6
  • G Pad 8.3
  • G Pro Lite
  • Optimus F7
  • Optimus L9 II
  • Optimus Vu II
  • Vu III
  • G Flex

People should wait for announcements in their region to know when the update will be available.
