LG confirmed the upcoming official Android 4.4 KitKat for G2 smartphone scheduled for release in the first quarter of 2014. One of the changes from the firmware is the revamp of the entire user interface and icons.

Android 4.4 KitKat for LG G2

LG Electronics finally confirmed an upcoming official update of Google's latest Android 4.4 KitKat OS on LG G2 smartphone. LG is the chosen co-maker of the Google Nexus 5 which initially carried the latest Android version and G2 deserves the same treatment as an LG flagship mobile phone.

Mobile Syrup made contact with LG and the company's representative from LG Canada, Court Elliot confirmed Android 4.4 KitKat firmware for the flagship smartphone G2. LG Canada is going to offer the software to network carriers at the same time, however, no exact rollout date has been said or if the release will be on the same day to all network providers.

In addition, Court Elliot revealed that LG G2 will get the latest Android version in the first quarter of 2014 or at the end of March next year. One of the most expected changes is the current Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean user interface which was reviewed as clunky and somewhat ugly.

Android 4.4 KitKat Possible Changes

LG G2 will benefit on several implementation with Android 4.4 KitKat, leading owners to enjoy the following new features:
