There is a battle royale in the smartphone market today as two new devices from Google, the search engine giant, were released this year.

LG G2 and Moto X are both Android-based smartphones and were speculated to be the rumoured Google Nexus 5.

However, LG released LG G2 as its new smartphone. The LG G2 included a Snapdragon 800 chipset and Adreno 330 GPU that outbest other smartphones.

Other LG G2 specs are: quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 clocked at 2.3 GHz paired with 2GB of RAM, 13-megapixel camera, 3000 mAh Li ion battery; Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean and 5.2-inch 1080p HD with a slim 2 mm bezel surrounding it. Some of these features may be included in the next Google Nexus 5.

On the other hand, Moto X was released exclusively in the United Stateds last August 1. Moto X boasts a 4.7-inch AMOLED screen display, architecture Motorola X8 Mobile Computing System paired with 2 GB of RAM, 4.2.2 version of Android Jelly Bean OS, 10 MP rear shooter and 2 MP face camera, and 2200 mAh battery capacity. The device is currently available in 16 and 32 GB variants. Consumers can choose from 18 different hues of the handset.

Screen Display - Moto X includes a 4.7 inch screen display with 720 x 1280 pixel resolution, while the new LG G2 packs a 5.2 inches screen display with 1080 x 1920 screen resolution.

Processor - Moto X is powered by a dual-core Snapdragon chipset clocked at 1.7 GHz paired with 2 GB of RAM. LG G2 is powered by a quad-core processor that is clocked at 2.26 GHz.

Operating System - Both smartphones will run with Android operating system - the 4.2.2 version of Jelly Bean OS, specifically.

Internal Storage - The Moto X is reported to be available in 16 and 32 GB variants. LG's new smartphone comes with 32 GB built-in storage.

Camera - Motorola's new phone includes a 10 MP rear shooter and 2 MP face camera. LG G2 has a 13-megapixel rear shooter.

Battery - LG G2's battery capacity is 3000 mAh. Moto X sports a fair 2200 mAh battery life and will support wireless charging.
