When LG G2 was released last year beside the Nexus series, the flagship was well received and in fact surprised everybody with their high-end specs with innovative and useful features, this year LG is prepping up for the release of their rumored LG G3. With lots of expectations around, it is only natural that we take a look at what we know so far i.e. rumors, expectations and confirmed features alike.
User Interface (Most Recently Leaked Features)
A stand out point about LG is their user interface, every time LG introduces a device; the user interface gets a dashing improvement from the predecessor. Even this year, LG has improved their graphical ecosystem with their upcoming LG G3.
According to leaked screenshots, the LG User Interface (dubbed as Optimus UI) looks uncluttered and flattened with rectangular components and solidly shaded widgets. In addition, the quick setting feature houses rounded icons, the similarity between LG's Otimus UI and Samsung's TouchWiz UI on the Galaxy S5 cannot be ignored. Additionally, the location of the QSlide Apps remains unaltered.
The LG G3's Optimus UI interface has a digital valet which is expected to advice the user on weather forecast, adding speed dial widget for important contacts; this is again similar to the software module from competitor's interface like HTC Sense.
Release Date and Price
Two sets of dates are doing the rounds in the blogosphere as of today. According to a Korean site, the release date is May 17. The idea behind this particular early launch date is to give better competition to the Samsung Galaxy S5, HTC One M8 and Sony Xperia Z2.
The other rumor which claims that this information is from a senior official from LG says, the device would be announced by late June and will be released in the early July.
The LG G3 is expected to cost slightly lesser than the Samsung and HTC's flagship.
Display
As we know, LG G2's back had a glossy finish, but the G3 will sport a matte finish and will have the similar look of the metal exterior of the HTC One (M8).
The LG G3 will sport a 5.5 inches screen with a resolution of 1,440 x 2,560 Quad HD display, and the pixel strength will be 534 ppi. According to AnTuTu, there are two versions of the LG G3 listed in its benchmarks, one of them is a QHD version and the other has a standard 1,920 x 1,080 resolution that Galaxy S5 and Xperia Z2 sport.

The LG G3 is reportedly powered by a 2.3GHz quad-core processor (Snapdragon 800 chipset) and not the 801 chipset which appears in the Galaxy S5, Xperia Z2 and HTC One M8.
In addition, the LG G3 will sport 32GB of internal storage and a microSD slot for further expansion. The device will be running on Android 4.4 KitKat.

The initial rumors suggested a 16MP rear facing camera, but the current leaks points to a 13MP camera unit. On the other hand, the G3 will sport a 2MP front facing camera.
In addition, G3 supports 4K video playback and 120 fps slow motion video capture. According to sources, the G3 could have a dual-LED flash.
