South Korean multinational conglomerate company LG Corporation unveiled its new flagship phone LG G3 in five key cities around the world earlier this month. But words have already been spreading around that the company is already engineering a smaller version of its flagship phone with the LG G3 Mini. So how does the smaller sister LG G3 Mini fare with the bigger LG G3?

Price

LG G3 is posted on the LG Australia Web site for AU$799 meanwhile the database for Indian export/import Web site Zauba showed that the price for LG G3 Mini is only around AU$231. Given this price, smart phone users can already have three units of the smaller phone with the price of one bigger LG model.

Display

LG Australia Web site also cited that LG G3 has a 5.5-inch quad high definition display with 2560 x 1440 pixel resolution that is the same as high-end gamming monitor. It also has a whopping 534 pixels per inches screen resolution.

On the other hand, GSM Arena mentioned that LG G3 Mini will have 4.5-inch display with a screen resolution of 720 x 1280 pixels and image density of 326 pixels. Although the display screen just has a slight difference, the screen resolution and image density is greatly reduced to almost half compared with the bigger model.

OS

In terms of operating systems, both the larger model LG G3 and the smaller model LG G3 Mini run on Android operating system version 4.4.2 KitKat.

Processors

Both LG G3 and LG G3 Mini also have the same Qualcomm Snapdragon processors. However, GSM Arena cited that LG G3 Mini is only clocked at 1.2GHz and has Snapdragon 400 CPU while LG Australia mentioned that LG G3 is clocked at 2.5GHz and has Snapdragon 801 CPU.

Memory

When it comes to memory, LG Australia also mentioned that the 16 GB model of LG G3 has 2 GB of RAM and the 32 GB model has 3 GB of RAM. Meanwhile, GSM Arena listed that LG G3 Mini only has 1 GB of RAM and 8 GB of internal memory. Although, the memory of both phones can be expanded up to 64 GB via microSD slot.

Camera

The same sources also cited above mentioned that LG G3 has 13-megapixel rear-facing camera and 2.1 megapixel front-facing camera. The smaller sister LG G3 Mini also have smaller camera specs with only 5-megapixel.

Battery

The smaller sister also has smaller battery capacity compared to its bigger sister. LG G3 Mini only has Li-Ion 2100 mAh battery while LG G3 has 3000mAh battery.

Other Specs

Both phones have Bluetooth 4.0, USB 2.0, and LTE-Advanced capabilities. They also have built-in accelerometer which will help smart phone users track their body's tilt and motion.
