LG G4 upgrades to Android 6.0 Marshmallow in Korea
LG is among the first to upgrade to Marshmallow
LG recently released Android 6.0 Marshmallow for G4 Korean users after its success in Poland last month. LG stands second to Google’s Nexus devices as being the first to use the upgraded Marshmallow OS for its smartphones.
As of now, the update is limited to three G4 models available across Korea: LG-F500K, LG-F500S and LG-F500L. Android 6.0 in G4 includes a new Doze feature that automatically shuts down background apps when you’re not using the phone so the phone saves on battery life.
When your phone is on Doze mode, only a few apps will sync with your phone while the others stay shut to add to the standby time. With a gentle tap on the screen, you have access to Google Now that shows information related to what you’ve been reading recently, as reported by Phonearena.
Now, you have access to better navigation through messages and emails by controlling Spacebar on the keyboard, which is similar to the Virtual Trackpad used on iPhones. Besides, with this latest upgrade to Android Marshmallow, users will have to agree to all terms and conditions to access a bunch of apps, unlike before.
In case you don’t accept the terms, the apps will still run but certain features won’t show. Seems, the latest Android 6.0 update will bring more changes such as new names for the two LG apps. LG’s Q and LG Bridge will be replaced by Memo Capture and LG AirDrive, respectively.
The international variants with model numbers LG-H1818, LG-810 and LG-H815 will get Android 6.0 Marshmallow in the next couple of weeks, as reported by Phone Radar. So far, the HTC One A9 is the only non-Nexus phone to have Android 6.0 Marshmallow, but that will change when more Android smartphones receive the latest 6.0 build.
