LG G6 leaks reveal upgraded display with 30% less energy consumption; Device to ship with Google Assistant
The highly-anticipated LG G6 smartphone could be the first device to ship with Google Assistant. Up to now, the Assistant has been exclusive only to Google Pixel devices. The smartphone will have 64GB internal storage, microSD expansion slot and the 3.5mm headphone jack that has Apple has dropped from its iPhones. Reports suggest that the LG smartphone will have dual rear cameras and a front-facing shooter that may also work as an Iris scanner to unlock the smartphone using face recognition.
According to Tech Times, LG will be officially unveiling the LG G6 smartphone in Barcelona on Feb. 26. An image of the handset has leaked ahead of the MWC 2017 and the image focuses on SIM card tray/microSD expansion slot. It has also been reported that the G6 will trade in the G5's modular design so that it can add a waterproof case, which will be one of the handset’s top features. The leaked LG G6 leaked photo only shows an upper side view of the flagship. The SIM tray/microSD expansion slot can be found on the upper right side of the device.
The LG G6 leaked photo shows the silver colour variant where the display has nearly no bezels on the sides. The selfie camera and the sensors are visible next to the earpiece. According to PhoneArena, the LG G6 flagship will sport a 5.7-inch Quad HD+ display with a screen resolution of 1,440 x 2,880 pixels and 9:18 aspect ratio. The upgraded display will also consume 30 percent less energy than its predecessor. As Samsung has reserved all Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 chipsets for its Galaxy S8 and S8 Edge handsets, LG G6 will sport a Snapdragon 821 chip.
