LG GizmoPal: Kid –Friendly Wearable Gadget Available Through Verizon
The LG GizmoPal has been especially designed for children and allows kids to call registered numbers and take-in calls from approved numbers as well. The device is also equipped with an auto-answer feature, which makes sure that the child will not miss any call.
The device was originally launched in South Korea and was dubbed as Kizon but has changed name upon its release in the U.S. The LG GizmoPal keeps vital connection between the child wearing the gadget and the guardians.
According to Design Boom, The GizmoPal allows the child to easily use the single-button to call two pre-selected numbers (either the number of parent or caregiver) by tapping twice and can also receive calls from up to four pre-registered numbers. The auto-answer feature allows the wearable device to automatically answer after 10 seconds. This is to ensure that communication will not be hindered even in noisy surroundings, and in this case, parents or caregivers will be informed.
The kids' wearable is linked with an app for iOS and Android that can be downloaded onto the parents' smartphones. It is also equipped with the GPS feature, so that parents can easily track the whereabouts of their child at all times. Parents with Android phones can take advantage of the Location Check feature, which automatically feeds information to the parents' smartphones at pre-scheduled times so they can monitor where the child is at specific points in a day, Daily Mail reports.
The GizmoPal has been carefully designed and manufactured to effectively adapt to a child's active lifestyle and is made from safe and durable materials. It is equipped with the IPX3 water-resistant feature to survive everyday use. The gadget comes with a LED light that glows everytime the battery level drops to lower than 20 percent.
In addition, parents can simply manage the GizmoPal settings using the GizmoPal app. The pre-registered contacts can be updated or changed any time as needed. The app is compatible with smartphones using Android 4.0 or higher and iOS 7 or higher. It comes in blue and pink variants and costs US$80 and requires a Verizon contract to work, which costs US$5 a month. There is no news yet whether the LG GizmoPal will hit the Australian and U.K. market.
