LG is working on a new range of devices soon to be unveiled. The devices include a new smartphone, tablet and a smartwatch. There have also been reports that LG is busy making a Quad HD screen for its new mobile device. This should put it in league with some of the best smartphones in the market. LG with this new range of products could vie for the top position in the mobile and tablet market.

According to a report by Tabtimes, the head of LG Bulgaria's communications - Dimitar Valev revealed the company's intentions in an interview to a Bulgarian website. In the interview Mr. Valev said that LG is also working on a phablet (cross over between a phone and a tablet) and a smartwatch (a wearable smartphone which doubles up as a watch.)

LG is said to be working on a tablet called "G Pad." The tablet comes with an 8.3 inch screen with a 1920 x 1080 resolution, quad core processor and 2 GB RAM.

The yet to be named new smartphone which LG is working on is reported to come with a 5.5 inch screen. The most appealing feature of the phone is said to be the whopping 2560 x 1440 resolution rendering 538 pixels per inch.

The products should help the company to be prepared for the future. Competition in the smartphone market is high with major competitors rolling out new and innovative devices. All the manufacturers will be watching the IFA consumer electronics event in Berlin, Germany. The event is scheduled to be held from 5 Sept to 9 Sept 2013.

Many of the companies will be showcasing their new products at the event. The most anticipated gadget will be the smartwatch from Samsung. Samsung and Sony are expected to make a big impression at the show in order to pre-empt the Sept 10 Apple event.

The success of the smartwatch from Samsung will bode well for LG. It may be easier to build a strong image for LG in a relatively new segment like the smartwatch rather than compete in a cut throat smartphone market.
