The LG Nexus 4 has sold out on T-Mobile Thursday, just hours after Google directed to the carrier store Android buyers looking for the handset. What's the favourite holiday shopping choice now?

Google probably didn't see this coming.

Google hasn't had the Nexus 4 on stock for quite a while now. Responding to heavy buyer demand and queries, Google on Thursday directed Nexus 4 shoppers to T-Mobile. After a mere few hours, T-Mobile has gone out of the handset stock, too.

Google was offering the Nexus 4 for $300 off-contract. In contrast, T-Mobile sold the handset for $199 along with a 2-year contract with $50 mail-in rebate. There is a significant price difference, but obviously some buyers could not wait any longer.

Being Google's latest Android reference device, Android 4.2 runs on the Nexus 4 on stock. It will also be the first in line for future updates.

The LG-manufactured Nexus 4 runs on Quad-core 1.5 GHz Krait with 2 GB RAM. Storage options are 8GB and 16 GB. It features a True HD IPS Plus capacitive touchscreen displaying 768 x 1280 pixels. It works on Li-Po 2100mAh battery. Its dimensions are 133.9 x 68.7 x 9.1 mm, weighing 139 g.

The Nexus 4 has 8 MP primary camera (3264 x 2448 pixels, autofocus, LED flash) and 1.3 MP secondary camera.

The downer is that the LG Nexus 4 does not have LTE connectivity. Still, a lot of buyers obviously did not mind.
