Samsung introduced another cheaper version of its popular smartphone, Samsung Galaxy Grand, which will cater to other sectors of market.

The Samsung Galaxy Grand has a big 5-inch display with 800x480 pixel resolution. It is powered by a dual core processor rated at 1.2 GHz with 1GB of RAM.

Surprisingly, the new smartphone runs with Androidv4.1.2 Jelly Bean OS. It also has a single SIM and dual SIM versions on launch.

As a downgraded version of Samsung Galaxy S3, the price of the handset is expected to be cheaper. If so, this smartphone will battle with Google's LG Nexus 4.

The Google-LG Nexus 4 boasts a 4.7 inch screen display with 1280x768 resolution, 1.5GHz Snapdragon S4 Pro quad-core processor, 8 MP camera and 2100 mAh battery.

The LG Nexus 4 also has WiFi 802.11 b/g/n, NFC Android Beam, Bluetooth, 2100 mAh Lithium polymer battery, Microphone, Accelerometer, Ambient light, Compass, Gyroscope, Barometer and GPS.

The new Google-LG smartphone will run with the new Android 4.2 Jelly Bean, which promises new features upgrade such as better camera options and controls. This has become the selling point of the device.

However, due to its cheap price and features and specs, the device attracted a lot of consumers and quickly it appeared in the Google Play Store, it sold out hours later when it was released.

Screen Display - Samsung Galaxy Grand sports a 5-inch screen display with 400x800 pixel resolution. Despite having a 4.7-inch screen size, LG Nexus 4 has 768x1280 pixel resolution and users can expect clearer and sharper interface.

Processor - Samsung Galaxy Grand has a 1.2GHz dual core processor and 1GB of RAM that is nothing compared to LG Nexus 4's quad core processor clocked at 1.5GHz with 2GB of RAM.

Operating System - The new smartphone from Samsung comes with Androidv4.1.2 Jelly Bean OS. But LG Nexus 4 still has the most recent Android OS with its 4.2 version of Jelly Bean.

Storage - Samsung Galaxy Grand has 8GB of built-in memory and you can add as much as 64GB of extra memory using microSD slot. LG Nexus 4 is available in 8GB and 16GB variant.

Camera - Samsung has included an 8MP rear camera and 2MP front camera with Galaxy Grand. Google's latest Nexus smartphone is equipped with 8MP rear camera and 1.3MP front shooter.

Battery - Both devices have 2100 mAh battery.

Price and Availability - Samsung has not yet revealed the price and availability of the new Galaxy Grand. LG Nexus 4 costs $299 in Google Play Store. However, the smartphone is currently sold out and buying from third party retailers can be quite expensive.
