Release date of the LG Nexus 5 appears to be nearing its realisation as more signs materialise this week that the Nexus 4 successor is just around the corner and waiting time is only a matter of weeks.

One clear indication, according to Android watchers, is the latest developments seen at the Google Play Store. The Verge has reported that the 16GB Nexus 4 is no longer in stock on the online store. A quick check on Google Play should confirm the claim.

In a separate report, AllThingsD declared that the stock out reflects the formal end of the Nexus 4's retail availability. "Google has no plans to replenish supplies of the device," said the tech blog site, citing an unnamed source.

For the hardcore Android fans, Nexus 4 quitting the scene so suddenly means only one thing - the Nexus is upon us.

And such belief is further fortified by the emergence of new clips, showing off the purported Galaxy S4 and iPhone 5S rival in its complete and functioning form. Picked up and posted by 9to5Google, the short videos showcased a phablet-size device running in Android.

The same report added that the device was authentic and its accidental peek was due mainly to a reckless Google employee, who was reportedly testing the product in its commercial build. Good for us and woe to the same Googler, the unit was left in a bar.

Pretty much, these floods of indicators all point to the Nexus 5 that reports and blog posts said, will be the product of the collaboration between Google and LG, which was also responsible in assembling the Nexus 4 that came out in late 2012.

As such, it is firmly believed that the handset will largely take from the LG G2, which is as the South Korean firm's 2013 hero phone.

According to a recently-leaked FCC document, the Nexus 5 will sport a 5-inch IPS LCD screen with 1080p resolution and will rely on tandem of a 2.3GHz quad-core Snapdragon 800 CPU and 3GB of RAM as its animator.

The most basic configuration starts with a 13MP main shooter plus a 32GB of built-in storage with no provision for external memory as usually the case for Google's Nexus product lines.

The device will also be the vehicle to debut the upcoming Android 4.4 OS, dubbed by the internet search giant as KitKat, obviously inspired by the wafer-core candy bar with generous amounts of chocolate wrappings.

Yet what is considered as the Nexus 5's strongest draw is its tag price, which likely will mirror the same point when the Nexus 5 arrived last year, at $300. Consumers seem to be lured by the thought of enjoying a powerful handset minus a major cash setback associated with high-end components.

The LG Nexus 5 release date is likely to happen anytime in October 2013 with the global preview allegedly set by the middle part of the same month.
