Mark October on your calendar as it is highly likely that in the same month the LG Nexus 5 will finally make its way to the market, its debut time and release date separated only by few weeks or even days.

Reports coming from TechRadar indicated that Google is really bent on outing its answer to the iPhone 5S at the soonest possible time. Pointing to its unnamed insider, the tech site declared that the Nexus 5 will definitely materialise no later than October 2013.

That would mean unveiling and ship outs of the KitKat-run device are happening within the month. It was reported earlier that a formal introduction has been scheduled for Oct 14. Now the TechRadar claim seems to suggest that right after that joint Google-Nestle event, the handset will go live on Google Play and buyers do not have to wait too long to place their orders.

The latest Nexus 5 posting should come by the end of October, the same report said.

And the best part is, the handset can be had without losing too much cash. If the iPhone 5S requires more than $600 for the unlocked 16GB version, only half of such amount will be asked from Android fans.

Roughly, the initial sticker price would be between $300 and $400 with the exact damage to be determined by the Nexus 5 configuration that shoppers would pick out. It is believed that Google and LG have prepared two models - the 16GB and 32GB editions and both include LTE and NFC chips, which explain the slight price hike.

Note that the 8GB Nexus 4, also made by LG, was initially offered for $299.

Now will the pricing deliver solid specs for the multitude of Nexus fans? Android watchers think so, stressing that Google will most likely future-proof its 2013 flagship smartphone, which means its specs is able to measure up or even exceed the offerings of the best handsets out there - the Galaxy S4, the Galaxy Note 3 and the iPhone 5S to name a few.

On that note, expect the Nexus 5 to sport a phablet-size screen, at least 5-inch, with 1080p display resolution and to be fired up by a quad-core Snapdragon 800 CPU, spinning at 2.3GHz, that taps into a 3GB of RAM.

The graphic engine will be an Adreno 330 GPU, which in a recently-leaked benchmark result reports was celebrated as one of the key strengths of the device, likely besting its rivals - both in the Android and iOS spheres.

Take note that the specs are patterned after the LG G2, which is LG's new hero mobile phone for the current year.

Yet probably the most interesting part of the whole Nexus package is the vanilla Android that comes right out of the box with the gizmo, which we all know now as KitKat or version 4.4. This upcoming Google mobile OS will directly tussle with iOS 7, making for an epic Apple-Google showdown in time for the holiday quarter of 2013.

So it should be all set for the grand October release date of the Nexus 5, with Google and LG poised to let out the powerful but affordable Android-toting toy on or before Oct 31.
