Alleged photo and features of the upcoming LG Nexus 5 hit the web this weekend that fire up the rumour mill of the device.

The alleged specifications have come out through Android and Me which cited a source claims to work for the Mountain View company.

According to the source, LG will include a superb camera, which is a 16MP OmniVision camera supposedly rests on the rear and comes with features like 1080p video recording and optical image stabilization. The front panel encompasses a 2.1MP lens and stereo speakers.

The informant has revealed that multiple manufacturers have been bringing in their prototypes for evaluation and the one that has been put forward by the maker in question is bestowed with the codename of Megalodon. According to this tipster, the device would have a 5.2-inch OLED display that spews out visuals at a resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels.

Other rumoured specs include Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 processor that possesses a clock rate of 2.3GHz. The CPU finds assistance in 3GB of LPDDR3 RAM. Storage options are provided in the form of 16GB, 32GB or 64GB of internal memory. Adding to the list of these highly questionable details is a 3300mAh Li-polymer battery, under the hood.

It was initially reported that the rumoured LG Nexus 5 is pegged for release in May but the device may come later due to Google's wavering decision and internal issues. Another reason for the delay is Google's confused mind whether it will pursue its second partnership with LG or release the next Nexus with sister company Motorola. Rumours claimed that the next Nexus smartphone will be Motorola X phone.

The successor of LG Nexus 4 coined as Nexus 5 is rumoured to sport a 5-inch full-HD (1920 x 1080) display translating into a pixel density of 440ppi. The device is also speculated to be equipped with NVIDIA Tegra 4 processor with 2GB of RAM, 8/16GB of internal storage, a 13-megapixel auto-focus rear camera with LED flash and a 3-megapixel front-facing camera.

The smartphone will bear the same affordable price as its predecessor, which is one of the selling points of LG Nexus 4.

The rumoured Nexus 5 will be running the latest Android iteration out of the box, and since the Android 5.0 Key Lime Pie is expected to launch in May at Google I/O, this will be the version underpinning the new flagship smartphone.
