LG Optimus G is ready for a global rollout to over 50 countries, the Nexus 4 manufacturer announced in a press release. This came out days after reports about the imminent launch of Optimus G Pro in Japan surfaced on the web.

The Optimus G, which was unveiled in September last year, has received positive reviews for its 4G LTE support. LG is confident its flagship device will give users the best 4G experience.

"As 4G LTE availability expands on a global scale, we will leverage our strong LTE technology and expertise to offer consumers the best 4G experience through our devices," said Dr. Jong-seok Park, president and CEO of LG Electronics Mobile Communications Company.

LG France Communications Director Cathy Robin has said in an earlier interview with Challenges.fr that the company is confident the Nexus 4 will not overshadow its own device, which was scheduled to roll out internationally.

"The Optimus G has already been launched in the United States, Canada, Korea and Japan to very favorable reviews and LG is aiming to build on the excitement already generated to launch the device in other LTE markets," reads the LG statement.

The specs of Optimus G matches Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 Pro to 1.5 GHz quad-core Qualcomm Krait. It comes with 2 GB memory and 32 GB storage on board. The screen display does not disappoint with 4.7-in "True HD" IPS LCD (768×1280 pixels) at 318 pixels per inch. The device uses Li-Ion 2100 mAh battery. It is a promising smart camera-phone with 13MP and 8MP cameras on its back and front, respectively.

Singapore will be the first country to receive the Optimus G in 2013. Various reports suggest the device will be rolled out to the UK within the first quarter.

Meanwhile, the LG Optimus G Pro, which various reports identified as LG Optimus G2, is reportedly set for a Japan launch.

The Japanese Blog of Mobile featured a spec list for the Optimus G Pro, indicating the upcoming handset will be available via NTT Docomo. The handset will sport a 5-inch 1080p HD screen (1080x1920 pixels). Its CPU seems to have been upgraded to 1.7GHz quad-core CPU and battery, to 3000 mAh. The G Pro reportedly measures 139×70×10mm and weighs 160 g. In contrast, the Optimus G measures 132x69x8.5mm and weighs 145 g.

LG, however, did not mention anything about the Optimus G Pro. The company is expected to make further announcements in Barcelona for the Mobile World Congress in February.
