Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 in LG Optimus G2

LG announced that it and Qualcomm are joining forces to add Snapdragon 800 processor to the upcoming Optimus G successor - G2 or another type of Optimus G. Using Snapdragon 800 processor will allow the next generation Optimus G to hit 2.3GHz clock speed and gain LTE connectivity for fast mobile data connection on selected areas.

"The new, best-in-class Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 processor will help deliver blazing fast Web browsing, eye-popping graphics, seamless connectivity as well as an unmatched multimedia experience," stated by Murthy Renduchintala, Executive Vice President of Qualcomm.

Voice Command on the Next Generation LG Optimus G Line

LG is now developing Voice Command integration according to sources of Gotta Be Mobile. The sources who are familiar with the situation said that the new LG Android smartphone will feature voice commands rather than virtual personal assistants such as Siri.

Voice Commands of the new LG smartphone allows user to do hands-free especially during driving. It also said that the voice command function is made possible to the use of Qualcomm Snapdragon 800.

Low-power consumption and always-on voice recognition system would be provided with the help of Snapdragon 800 and owners can create custom phrases for the phone to listen to. However, the voice command uses "hello" as default word and may accidentally activate the device while starting a conversation during calls.
