LG Optimus G2 Specs Rumours, Set to Arrive Soon?
LG Optimus G2 was a no-show at the CES (Consumer Electronics Show) 2013 last week, but rumours suggest the much-awaited smartphone could arrive by late September or early October this year.
Speculations are rife that LG will unveil the Optimus G2 at the MWC (Mobile World Congress) in Barcelona in February. The reported timing will coincide with the Optimus G's debut anniversary.
CNET suspects the latest power phone will boast of a full 1080p HD display. In addition to rumoured specs, Android Community indicated Snapdragon 600 series will be running LG's next flagship Android smartphone.
The Optimus G2 may not be the only device that LG will announce at the MWC. CNET reported, "LG may also be planning a stopgap device for MWC." This is presumably to compete head-on with Samsung, which will reportedly unveil the Galaxy S4 in April or May. The yet-to-be-named stopgap device could break the momentum for Samsung ahead of a bigger LG entrance later in the year. It could reportedly sport a 5.5-inch screen display, a quad-core processor and run on Android 4.1 Jelly Bean.
By autumn in the U.S. the Optimus G2 will reportedly arrive with Android 5.0 Key Lime Pie. LG reportedly deemed it wise to wait for the latest Android before releasing the G2 to the market.
Speaking at the CES event last week, LG Electronics SVP James Fisher hinted LG will be unveiling quite a number of attention-grabbing devices. Fisher also hinted a lot of the devices will be in partnership with Google. The Nexus 4, despite surrounding supply chain issues, is only "the first of many devices" that LG will deliver, said Fisher.
