LG Unveils G3: Price and Five Fresh Features to Expect as New Smart Phone Will Hit Australian Shores [Watch Video]
South Korean multinational conglomerate company LG Corporation unveiled its new flagship phone LG G3 in Seoul, South Korea on Wednesday. The smart phone is also set for release in five other major cities around the world - San Francisco, New York, and London, Singapore and Istanbul.
LG Australia already posted the new smart phone on its company website for AU$799. Users are asked to register to avail of the unit for there is no mention yet on the exact date of its availability in the Australian shores. In the meantime, here are five fresh features to expect from the smart gadget.
Metallic Design
LG G3 is smartly designed with faux fax metal finish that convincingly looks like a real one. The brushed metallic black finish pictured on the company website is almost indistinguishable from the real metal. The smart phone measures 146.3 mm in length, 74.6mm in width, and 8.9 mm in depth weighing 149g.
The smart phone's slim bezels and curved, removable back cover makes it an impressive feat. The buttons located at the rear portion of the phone appeared to be larger and more textured compared with its predecessor.
Great Display
According to an article from the Stuff, LG G3 has 5.5-inch quad high definition display with 2560 x 1440 pixel resolution that is the same as high-end gaming monitor. It also has a whopping 534 pixels per inches (ppi) screen resolution. This ludicrously high resolution is way ahead of Samsung Galaxy S5 and HTC One M8 which only have 1080p screens.
Improved Camera
According to an article from PC Advisor, LG G3 still has 13-megapixel camera just like the LG G2. But the camera now comes with dual-LED flash, optical image stabilization (OIS), and a laser autofocus. With these enhancements, the camera allows really quick focus on a subject and accurately determines the distance of a subject. It also reduces blur and shutter speed control in the process even with limited light. The smart phone also has a 2.1 megapixel front-facing camera that users can use for their selfies and other picture taking moments.
Powerful Performance
The Stuff also mentioned that LG G3 sports a 2.5GHz quad-core Snapdragon 801 CPU which will be available in 16 GB model with 2 GB of RAM and in 32 GB model with 3 GB of RAM. The smart phone uses the same 2.5GHz quad-core slice of silicon as Samsung Galaxy S5 and HTC One M8. It runs on Android Kitkat 4.4.2 plus LG's Optimus User Interface.
Wireless Connections
PC Advisor also mentioned that LG G3 has built in wireless charging. It also has NFC, Bluetooth 4.0, USB 2.0, Infrared, and LTE-Advanced. With these capabilities, users can do away with the hassle of wired connections in charging and transferring files and data. The 3000mAh battery and microSD are also removable so users can easily replace them.
