LG V20 review & update: A feature-packed handset for highly-specialised performance; Camera & audio specs appreciated
Tech enthusiasts are considering the LG V20 as the most feature-packed smartphone of 2016. With this handset, LG has targeted the creative types and also those who are experimental with their handsets. It does much more than simply allowing users to make phone calls, browse their social media profiles, browse the Internet and play games. It offers a more customisable experience and offers numerous features that many smartphones do not possess.
According to The Sydney Morning Herald, photography enthusiasts will love the LG V20, so will audiophiles. The phone offers super-wide lens and a brilliant secondary screen. It also records crystal clear audio and its audio equipment is absolutely crazy. It has a large 5.7-inch display and that sets it apart from many others. In fact, the screen is bigger than Samsung Galaxy S7, S7 Edge, Google Pixel and Pixel XL smartphones.
The LG V20 beats many biggies in several specific areas but also loses out to some in basic, fundamental areas such as ease-of-use, design and comfort. What’s most striking about the V20 in first look is the complicated camera panel at the back and the tiny always-on display that sits above the main screen on the front. The LG V20 has a removable battery, which is a sort of a relief for many.
The LG-B&O partnership has resulted in a Quad-HD DAC that drives the LG V20’s sound. The display has a screen resolution of 1440 x 2560 pixels and has Corning Gorilla Glass 4 protection. The secondary display is 160 x 1040 pixels. It runs on Android 7.0 Nougat and is powered by a Snapdragon 820 and Adreno 530 GPU. It has a 4GB RAM and internal storage of 32/64GB, reviews GSMArena.
The fingerprint scanner is rear mounted and the phone packs an impressive 3,200 mAh battery with Quick Charge 3.0 functionality. The dual 16 MP (29mm, f/1.8) + 8 MP (12mm, f/2.4) has laser autofocus, OIS and LED flash. Other features include 1/2.6" sensor size @ 29mm, 1/3.2" sensor size @ 12mm, geo-tagging, touch focus, face/smile detection, panorama and HDR. The LG V20 has a 5MP secondary camera.
