The Little HTC RE Camera With 16-Megapixel CMOS Sensor Is Launched at $161 (Rs. 9,990)
HTC's new camera RE is set to release in India at the price of Rs 9,990. The camera is unique as it is tiny, but has features of a camera with a normal build. HTC announced last Friday at its 'Double Exposure' event in India, that the camera would be made available for customers only through an e-commerce portal Snapdeal. RE action camera will be available in the country from the first week of November. Last week the camera was launched globally.
The little camera has great features and a novel cylindrical design. The circular design makes it easy to handle and hold. The camera does not have a power button but has a built-in grip sensor; this detects when a person holds it and switches on automatically.
With a 16 megapixel CMOS sensor and a 146 degree wide angle lens, the HTC RE can be used to shoot videos and take photographs as well. It can take full HD videos at 30 fps. A long press of the shutter button activates the video recording.
HTC also announced that the light weight, tiny RE camera can shoot 1 meter under water as it is waterproof with IPX7 certification. The view finder of the camera can be your phone, the RE app features a remote live viewfinder. After download you can see what you shoot on your mobile device. The mobile device will act as your view finder which will allow you to view live videos and move through the images you just shot, available on the camera's memory card. The HTC RE comes with a 256MB of DDR RAM and supports a microSD card as well. It has a 32 MB ROM and a 820 mAh battery that powers the device. According the ibnlive, this battery allows the user to click 1,200 photos.
The tiny camera has several other features that have caught the attention of camera lovers, it has Bluetooth, Wi-Fi 802.11b/g/n, and Micro-USB options and comes with adjustable clamp, universal mounting stand, universal wall plug (charger), charging stand, portable battery and dual-port adopter.
