English Premier League sides Liverpool and Manchester United are competing to lure Atletico Madrid midfielder Arda Turan to their respective camps in January.

Turan signed from Galatasaray to Atletico Madrid in 2011, tallying an impressive 5 goals and 10 assists in his first season.

Recently, he has helped his team with 3 goals and 4 assists in all competitions, helping the Los Rojiblancos secure the top spot in group G of the Champions League, as well as the second place in the ongoing season of the La Liga.

His agent, Ahmet Bulut, has made it known that 26-year-old's main ambition at this point is to play in England.

"A destination in the Premier League would be to the liking of the player and I can confirm there are clubs interested, like the two mentioned (referring to Liverpool and Manchester United)," Bulut told The Express.

"He wants to work in England."

According to reports, the aforementioned Premier League rivals sent out scouts to study Turan's game to justify his £33million release clause, should they further their interest.
