Lorde, Joel Little Reteaming For Next Album ‘Very Soon’
Lorde will be reteaming with producer/songwriter Joel Little on her next album. The 18-year-old Kiwi superstar is set to work with her collaborator, who helped make “Pure Heroine” a worldwide success.
Little, the former Goodnight Nurse lead singer, revealed to Triple J in an interview that Lorde will be recording a follow-up to her multi-award-winning album, and he will be a part of it once more. As talented with song-writing as Lorde is, she didn’t come up with her songs all by herself. Her winning records were created in partnership with Little.
Their partnership proved to be the best thing that Lorde’s management had put together. The pair co-wrote and composed almost every song on the songstress’ “The Love Club EP” and the subsequent “Pure Heroine,” and went on to win multiple awards together. “Royals,” their most successful yet, topped several charts, including the U.S. Alternative Album and Rock Album on Billboard. They also worked together on “Yellow Flicker Beat,” the lead single from “The Hunger Games: Mockingjay – Part 1” soundtrack.
That is most probably why for Lorde’s next album, there is no change in the winning formula. She will reteam with Little, and they will start working soon.
“We’re gonna get in the studio again very soon. That’s the plan, basically. We’re just gonna start writing some songs,” the 32-year-old musician said. And when asked when are they stepping inside the studio, he answered, “Really soon, like in the next month or so we’ll be in the studio.”
Lorde isn’t the only artist Little has worked with. He also collaborated with other artists on their songs, including English singer Sam Smith, New Zealand music duo Broods, Australian rocker Daniel Johns and British songstress Indiana among a few others.
Meanwhile, Lorde, after a very busy and eventful 2014, is enjoying a summer break in their home country. She doesn’t have any scheduled tour for this year.
