LTE Xiaomi Mi4 Released In China For $325 Equivalent
Xiaomi Mi4, the smartphone with high-end specifications that comes at a nominal price range was all the rage when it was released in August. However, the Xiaomi handset does not support 4G LTE connectivity. The recent news is that a LTE variant of the Xiaomi Mi4 is currently available in the company's home-country China dubbed "LTE Xiaomi Mi4."
Reportedly, the recently released LTE version of the Mi4 will work only on the TD-LTE network of China Mobile. Therefore, this particular variant will not be released outside China. Nonetheless, the doors are not completely shut at this point. The company will be releasing a China Unicom FD-LTE variant towards the end of 2014. According to reports, this LTE version will be in-line with the international LTE networks. Interested readers may have to wait a little more to get their hands on the LTE Xiaomi Mi4, according to GSM Arena.
In the meantime, the Chinese LTE Xiaomi Mi4 is priced at RMB 1999 that roughly translates to US$325 and AU$356. Furthermore, the non-LTE variant can be purchased for US$399 that roughly translates to AU$429 in Oppomart.
As far as the key specification goes, the Xiaomi Mi4 comes with a 5.0-inch Sharp/JDI OGS full lamination display bundled with 1,080 x 1,920 pixels screen resolution. The phone is powered by a superior quad-core (Snapdragon 801) Krait 400 processor, clocked at 2.5 GHz. Also, the device is backed by a killer 3 GB of RAM.
When it comes to OS, the Xiaomi handset runs on Android v4.4.3 KitKat OS along with Xiaomi's MIUI v6 UI on top of it. The phone comes equipped with either 16 GB or 64 GB of internal storage capacity. Nevertheless, there is no option for expandable storage. Speaking of camera, the device sports a good 13 MP primary unit with dual-LED flash and a killer 8 MP front-facing snapper for selfies. If this is not impressive enough, the phone houses a powerful Li-Ion 3080 mAh battery unit. Apart from standard connectivity options, the device supports Infrared port but not NFC. Apparently, only 1% of the global users are benefitting from NFC, hence the company dropped the support in 2014 flagship Mi4, says GizChina.
Moreover, the device comes in black and white shades. Nevertheless, the Xiaomi Mi4's rear shell is alterable with wood and marble panels, according to CNet.
