The Lumia 830 is scheduled to hit the shelves across the globe this week. Microsoft dubs the Lumia 830 as an "affordable flagship" handset with 10 MP PureView Imaging Technology.

Microsoft had unveiled two budget smartphones, the Nokia 830 and the Nokia 730, at the IFA event. Both handsets feature a slim body and impressive specs at affordable price.

The Lumia 830 measures 139.4 x 70.7 mm with a thickness of 8.5 mm. It weighs 150 g. The Lumia 830 is the slimmest Lumia device followed by Lumia 730, which is 8.7 mm thick. According to the company's official press release, the exterior is made up of polycarbonate material.

The handset features a 5-inch display screen that supports HD resolution with 294 ppi. It is powered by a Snapdragon 400 chipset and a Cortex A7 quad-core processor that fires at 1.2 GHz.It also features Adreno 305 graphics and 1 GB RAM.

The internal storage of the Lumia 830 is 16 GB and the external storage slot supports up to 128 GB of microSD. Microsoft is also offering 15 GB of OneDrive cloud storage space, the press release states.

The unique selling point of the handset is the 10 MP Carl Zeiss optics lens powered by PureView imaging technology. It supports full HD recording with OIS and stereo sound, autofocus and LED flash.

The front facing camera is 0.9 MP and is capable of recording HD videos. The handset is preloaded with the latest Windows Phone 8.1 Lumia Denim build. Microsoft's Lumia 830 is powered by a 2200 mAh battery that supports wireless charging.

The official press release states that the Lumia 830 will start shipping across the globe this week. The device will be available in multiple colours: orange, green, white and black.

The Lumia 830 is launched with a price tag of €330, which equates to 416 USD. According to PhoneArena, AT&T won't be selling it before Nov 7. Other leading carriers of the US like Verizon and T-Mobile are also rumoured to offer Lumia 830.
