Apple fans were excited when buzz about the MacBook Air 2016 launch during the holiday season first came out. But it doesn’t look like the Cupertino tech giant has plans of releasing its new laptop during the holiday rush.

The MacBook Pro 2016 is going to hit the market by the spring of 2016, reported Australia Network News. But new reports speculate the laptop will make an apperance at WWDC 2016 in June. To date, however, Apple hasn’t given any word as to when the 2016 models of the MacBook will make their way into the tech market.

With the laptop’s release date being kept under wraps, consumers were nevertheless able to uncover specs that seem highly likely to be found on the much anticipated laptop. The MacBook 2016 will feature the new Skylake-U chipset. This device, however, has apparently not yet entered production.

But since the MacBook Air hasn't been upgraded to any great extent since 2010, it's a safe bet the version set for release next year will be a totally different beast. Apple is expected to boost the laptop's internet capabilities. And it will be lighter and thinner in line with the trend prevalent among smartphones.

If these guesses turn out to be true, then previous reports about the MacBook Air 2016 being released this Christmas are wrong. After all, Intel's latest processors that are going to be used on the upcoming laptops have yet to begin production.

Apple has neither confirmed nor denied the buzz. For starters, the iPad Pro has just very recently made its debut. Plus, it’s speculated Apple wanted to avoid launching products during the recent Black Friday rush since the massive discounts and bargains will overshadow its release. Not launching the MacBook Air 2016 while consumers are rushing to get discounts on various devices would seem to be a strategic move for its upcoming laptop model.

Although the rumours of a Black Friday 2015 launch for the MacBook Air 2016 have already been debunked, Yibada has reported that the device will be released on a different holiday instead.
