MacBook Pro 2013 with Haswell Processor Features to Include Sharp’s IGZO Screen Technology?
MacBook Pro 2013 features may include Sharp's IGZO screen technology to improve its current Retina display.
Reports say that Apple's upcoming laptop, MacBook Pro 2013, will bring in a revolutionary screen display with the aid of Sharp's latest technology.
Sharp's IGZO displays boast of 3840 × 2160 pixel resolution, which is almost a few hundred short in being a 4K screen resolution. Moreover, it also includes power-saving features, which is an advantage for users. This is because IGZO transistors can change state faster and do not need as much power unlike the traditional LCD display.
IGZO is the abbreviation of Indium Gallium Zinc Oxide, which is an alternative to silicon used in making transistors embedded in LCD panels. Electrons can move more freely in an IGZO circuit than in an amorphous silicon one.
However, reports said that Sharp's 4K2K IGZO panels will not be ready by this year. Company will enter full scale mass production of the screens in February next year.
MacBook Pro 2013 features consist of Intel's newest Haswell processor; improved GPU; faster wi-fi; longer battery life and faster and larger storage capacity. These are based on the new features of the newly released MacBook Air and iMac.
MacBook Pro 2013 will also pack the new OS X Mavericks unveiled last June. This version of Mac OS will include new features like "multiple-monitor support, power-user features in Finder, a faster Safari, Maps and iBooks apps, and a redesigned Calendar application."
Reports stated MacBook Pro 2013 release date will be on October 15. The event is reported to feature other Apple products such as iPad 5, iPad Mini 2 and the official release of OS X Mavericks.
However, Apple did not confirm nor deny any of these rumours. Thus, consumers must wait until the official announcement of the company.
