MacBook Pro, Air 2016 release date news indicate June 13 launch
It's only been two weeks since Apple's March 21 launch event, and the rumour mill is already in overdrive about the expected features of the MacBook Pro 2016 models. However, fresh information suggests the MacBook Pro 2016 variants will be unleashed in June this year.
Although Apple is currently keeping mum about its upcoming MacBook Pro models, presumably to concentrate on the sales of its newly launched iPad Pro and iPhone SE devices, it has confirmed that its annual Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC) 2016 event will be held between June 13-17.
Apple fans who were expecting the company to announce the MacBook Pro 2016 on March 21 have now fixed their eyes on the June event, with the arrival of the new notebooks seemingly imminent. Rumours are suggesting that Apple will use this platform to announce 2016 MacBook Pro models on June 13, Mobi Picker reported.
The MacBook Pro 2016 is speculated to launch in two sizes, one sporting a 13-inch display while the other features a 15-inch screen. Apple is expected to use sixth generation Intel Skylake chipsets to power these notebooks, with the Intel chip expected to enhance the battery performance of the device. It is believed the new MacBook Pro models will offer a battery life of up to nine hours.
Apple is also expected to enhance the appearance of its 2016 MacBook Pro models, which would very likely sport a slimmer form factor like the MacBook Air models. Speculations also claim that the company will include OLED displays on these notebooks that will be equipped with Retina Display technology. Other rumoured features of the notebooks include Siri for Mac, USB Type-C, Touch ID fingerprint scanner and dual band Wi-Fi ac.
The 13-inch and 15-inch MacBook Pro 2016 variants are expected to be priced at around $1500 (AU$1980) and $2800 (AU$3696). The Cupertino company is also expected to unleash a 12-inch MacBook Air at the upcoming 2016 event.
