'Mad Men' Season 7: Return Date, Cast Members Say It's Surprising Till The End

“Mad Men” will be returning soon to air the final seven episodes of the swansong season. The first half of the season, consisting of seven episodes, was aired last year in spring. AMC has announced that the show will return on April 05 to wrap up the series. The cast members have said that the show is surprising till the end.
“Each of the last seven episodes feels like a finale,” Matt Weiner, creator of “Mad Men,” said, as quoted by New York Daily News, at Television Critics Association panel. According to him, the final seven episodes would focus on the “core cast members.” He, however, did not reveal what is going to happen in the upcoming episodes. The cast members, too, did not spill spoilers about the series finale or revealed what to expect from the upcoming episode. They just said that they were surprised and pleased with the final script.
At the Panel, Elisabeth Moss, who plays Peggy Olsen, said that she was surprised and pleased with what Wiener has written. Calgary Herald has quoted Moss as saying, “I was surprised in the best way. Like, just, really, really happy with it.” Christina Hendricks, who plays Joan Harris, has said that she started crying after reading the final script because she realised that “it’s over.” Calgary Herald has quoted Hendricks as saying that she was pleased when she got the script.
Vincent Kartheiser, who plays Pete Campbell, said that each viewer would have his or her own individual response. It will not be a collective response, according to the actor. According to Calgary Herald, Hamm said that he would miss the experience of working with an amazing group of people. He said that it has been a significant part of his life. “This experience has been unequivocally wonderful and I’ll miss it,” Hamm said at the Panel, as quoted by Calgary Herald.
According to Daily News, Weiner did not completely rule out the possibility of a spin-off but he felt that the final episodes have wrapped up this chapter of “Mad Men.” “The only spinoff I’m looking at now are the final seven,” Daily News has quoted him as saying.
