Madonna cuts short 2015 Rebel Heart Australia tour by six days, cusses fans at Manchester for booing her [Watch Video]
Pop star Madonna, despite her massive popularity and international appeal, has broken quite a few hearts. She has recently announced that she will be cutting short her Australian “Rebel Heart” tour and has also lashed out at her Manchester fans in a concert on Monday after they allegedly booed her for being almost an hour late. Due to “scheduling issues,” the pop sensation has moved forward her Brisbane shows by ten days.
According to News.com.au, the 57-year-old singer will be playing six shows in nine days thereby ending her tour six days earlier than originally scheduled. The tour starts on March 12 and 13 in Melbourne, followed by the changed dates in Brisbane on March 16 and 17 at Brisbane Entertainment Centre and then ending the tour in Sydney on March 19 and 20. People, who have already bought their tickets for the earlier Brisbane shows on March 26 and 27, will now have to be there at the concert on March 16 and 17 though the same tickets are valid. Those who won’t be able to make it to the show will be refunded the entire amount before Feb. 01, 2016.
The scheduling changes may result in speculation that her shows may not have been a hit as expected and running low on ticket sales. Previously and according to the original show dates, there was a ten week-day off and Madonna was expected to play in the three eastern states over three weekends.
Fans, who have already bought flight tickets of Jetstar and Qantas for the Brisbane show, do not need to pay anything extra for the change in flying dates mainly because the airlines being partners to tour promoter Live Nation. However, fans, who have tickets of other airlines have been angered by the news as they have spent a lot of money on flight, accommodation and Madonna concert tickets.
Madonna has also enraged fans in her Manchester show on Monday by calling them “diva bitches,” reports Independent. The singer made a late entry to the stage, almost an hour above her scheduled time that resulted in fans booing her. Apparently, it was not the singer’s fault but a technical glitch with the concert screen.
“Thank you all for waiting. I don’t like to be late, by the way . . . and all you bitches who keep complaining about it can shut the f**k up. I’m not back there eating chocolates and filing my nails and getting my extensions done,” said Madonna that utterly shocked the audience. She also said that if anyone wants to complain about her being late, they need not come to the show.
Soon, Twitter was sent to overdrive criticising the singer for her remarks. Some even went to the extent of declaring them non-fans.
Been a #madonna fan for 30 years. No more. Her attitude in Manchester STINKS tonight. #badattitude
