After a string of inconsistent and poor performances and an apparent falling out with Manchester City boss Manuel Pellegrini, Blues first-choice goalkeeper Joe Hart is reported to be heading to Stoke City in exchange for Asmir Begovic, in a player swap deal.

Pellegrini is contemplating on making Begovic, 26, his number one shot-stopper, according to The Mirror, while Hart must head the opposite direction, should he still want to wear the gloves for England in the 2014 World Cup.

Back-up keeper Costel Pantilimon failed to make an impression that he can be utilised for the long-haul at City.

The Bosnian is a realistic choice for the January transfer window because he is still eligible to feature in the Champions League in this 2013/14 campaign for the Eastlands club.

It has been reported that the Blues are ready to make a £15million bid and send Hart on loan until the season ends, while still paying his enormous weekly wages of £110,000.
