Retired Mexican professional boxer Marco Antonio Barrera has also shared his insights about the superfight between Floyd Mayweather Jr. and Manny Pacquiao. According to Barrera, the Filipino eight-division world champion would have to knock Mayweather out if he wants to win the fight.

Barrera visited the Mayweather Boxing Club during Mayweather’s media day and caught up with Radio Rahim of Seconds Out. Speaking in his native language, Barrera said that the highly anticipated Mayweather-Pacquiao fight is a very interesting one, but it is going to be a tough fight for the Filipino. He said that Pacquiao needs to “search for a knockout” to defeat Mayweather.

Barrera, who fought and lost twice to Pacquiao, also spoke about his thoughts on Mayweather calling himself as “The Best Ever.” Barrera said Mayweather certainly is the best ever because no fighter has been able to give the Grand Rapids native a professional loss.

“The thing is, Floyd is the best in the world right now because no one has ever won against him,” Barrera said. “He is a very good man in the ring; he moves a lot, he had the brain to do very good punches, so if he wins the fight, it is going to be even bigger.”

If both fighters are able to carry on until the 12th round, Barrera said it is Mayweather’s hands that will be raised in the end. He reiterated that Pacquiao has to knock out Mayweather to win.

Elsewhere, Pacquiao also had his media day with journalists at Wild Card Boxing Club in Los Angeles on April 15, a day after Mayweather hosted his open media workout at his Las Vegas boxing gym. Pacquiao remains hopeful that he will be able to beat Mayweather when they clash in their unification welterweight bout on May 2 at the MGM Grand Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada.

According to Pacquiao, he wants to “share the gospel of the Lord” to Mayweather after they fight. He revealed that his training camp, with only a few weeks leading up to the fight, has been great so far. Pacquiao said that has no reason to have misgivings about the judges come the fight night. He is confident that he will be the first fighter to give Mayweather a professional loss.
