Better audio quality and a clamshell phone seize attention
The past week has been full of news about leaked images and Chinese brand announcements showcasing the Huawei Mate 8, Xiaomi Redmi Note 3, the Lenovo Vibe X3, Samsung’s Marshmallow updates and much more. Let’s have a look at some of the most sensational broadcasts from the Nov. 16 to 22.
Buzz about the Marshmallow roadmap hinted at Note 5’s imminent update to the new OS. The Galaxy S6, S6 Edge and S6 Edge+ are also to receive Marshmallow updates in January. The Galaxy S5, which is awaiting approval, is due to get the update in April. Another device, the Galaxy A8, is set for an update in March.
After the success of Redmi Note 2, Xiaomi gears-up for the Redmi Note 3 with stunning features and some exclusive add-ons. While a majority of the specs remain the same for the two phones, the Note 3’s a step ahead with a lovely metal body and rear-facing fingerprint scanner, reports Phone Arena.
There’s been a slew of leaked images of the Huawei Mate 8 that’s expected to have some surprising features. The rear camera is rumoured to be either a 16 MP or 13 MP. With a Kirin 950 chipset and the Mali-T880MP4 GPU under the hood, the smartphone’s anticipated to be a huge success, reports Naijapot.
Here’s another announcement that came in last week: the Lenovo Vibe X3 is putting a lot of emphasis on audio quality. In addition to highly advanced audio technology, the smartphone comes with other features like Hi-fi 3.0, dedicated ESS Sabre ES9018K2M; three noise-cancelling mics and much more. Released today, the phone’s available for preorder at US$300 (AU$413).
Another big announcement was Samsung’s clamshell W2016 now available with 3 GB RAM, Exynos, Lollipop and a 16 MP camera. The latest leak also sheds light on the CMDA carriers like Sprint, Verizon to receive Snapdragon 820 power.
