Mass Effect 3, Citadel DLC: Goodbye with a Bang
The Citadel DLC marks the final wave for Mass Effect 3, and it seems that fans won't be disappointed, especially when you consider everything that has happened with the Mass Effect 3 franchise.
What really packs the punch for Citadel is the way it delves into the very relationships and persons of Shepard and his team. You not only see a peek into these crucial moments, but you also get to know them in a more moving way.
Kotaku reports that the writing is also something that's worthy of praise. From the quips and poignant insights, you know there's something personal and reflective about the humor more than anything else.
If you have been a long follower of Mass Effect, this is probably the tribute that's worthy of the collection. It will take you down to the very details of the game, citing those from past installments, Shepard's back story, and even the choices that he's made from before, all integrated into one cohesive pack.
Citadel: The best way to signoff for Mass Effects 3
Following a mass wave of disappointments with the original ending of Mass Effect 3, BioWare and developer Electronic Arts paved the way for a better, more fan-friendly ending.
However, in terms of a good note for a farewell, it seems that the Citadel DLC does a heck of a job. According to MTV, there's less tension and more appreciation of Shepard and the crew's adventure and humor, taking out of its normally bleak and dreary outlook.
It's a nod to what may have been unconsciously skipped over in a very serious setting, now finding its way in the comedies and jokes that the crew and their lead have and more.
If there was a bad side, Digital Trends points out that it may very well just be the price tag, which is a massive 1200 MS points or $14.99 for a game that is over 4GB in size but lasts for roughly 4 hours.
The best part for the Citadel DLC is that, according to Digital Trends, you get a better-alternate, if you will-ending that packs more of a comedic punch in all the right places to give a more fitting bow to the game.
