Mass Effect 3 Demo Arrives on Valentine's Day
Bioware's epic conclusion to its popular role playing saga, Mass Effect won't be available until March 6 avid fans of the series will be able to play a demo version on Valentine's Day to the consternation of their partners.
The demo will give gamers a chance to test out the new cooperative multiplayer mode. Fans will see the opening attack of the series' villains the Reapers on Earth that will also serve as the opening for the game's single player campaign. Players will get a first taste of the customization options that will be available on the main game when it ships out on March 6, 2012. The Mass Effect 3 demo will be available on Xbox 360, PS3 and PC. Early access to the multiplayer demo is available to registered users of "Battlefield 3" online.
"We are excited to be able to give gamers an expansive demo that will put them right on the front lines of this all-out galactic war," said Casey Hudson, Executive Producer of the Mass Effect series. "The entire scale of the game is bigger than anything we've ever done. With its intense action, deep customization and raw emotional power, Mass Effect 3 will deliver a spectacular action RPG experience to fans of the series and newcomers alike."
Xbox 360 owners will also experience Kinect functionality with their Mass Effect 3 demo. Now Xbox players can shout out their tactical maneuvers instead of selecting them from the pop-up menu. Team-play is easier than ever with the new voice commands making gameplay feel more cohesive and very much like a real battlefield situation.
Mass Effect 3 is the epic conclusion to the critical praised sci-fi series. In the third installment, the player takes on the alien race called the Reapers as they launch an all-out invasion of the galaxy. As Commander Shepard, the player has to rally allies to take on the Reapers and save the galaxy from total annihilation.
