What little news has emerged about “Mass Effect 4” has indicated the new game will be an all-new adventure. New tweets from Bioware developers indicate that this is very much the case, as players are advised not to worry about their save games from “Mass Effect 1, 2 and 3.”

The news comes in response to a fan question posed to Senior Producer at EA/BioWare, John Warner. Warner was asked if fans should care about their previous “Mass Effect” save data or if “Mass Effect 4” would present a clean slate. Warner responded with a tweet letting the fan know that the next “Mass Effect” game was being crafted as an experience gamer's new to the narrative would be able to get into easily.

“The next ‘ME’ is a great place to jump into the series," he said. "No need to worry about saves.”

As noted by Z-Giochi, Warner also stated that fans should expect some new “Mass Effect” info from game producer Michael Gamble. Gamble responded to a fan who asked if the ambiguity about a title for the next “Mass Effect” game was confusing by stating that he simply called the game “Mass Effect,” a further indicator that the next game approaches the series narrative from a clean slate.

Gamble and Warner have some history tweeting in vague terms about development progress on “Mass Effect 4.” The pair typically reference successful internal meetings or comment on the quality of art presentations within the studio.

While little is known about the story driving the next “Mass Effect,” BioWare has been relatively open discussing the game on forums and social media. As reported previously, BioWare General Manager Aaryn Flynn promised fans on NeoGAF that “Mass Effect 4” would not copy the successful template established by “Dragon Age: Inquisition.”

As the next “Mass Effect” enters its third year of active development, gamer's will hope that Warner's statement that news will be shared soon rings true. In an interview with GameTrailers from 2014, Flynn stated that the new game would indeed be separate from the original trilogy but that the team was working on adding nods to prior entries. Asked whether any fan-favourite characters would be returning, he stated there would definitely be returning races.
