Konami’s “Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain,” is currently one of the best games this year and players are currently enthralled by its single player campaign, and its multiplayer mode; FOB. The game will still have more content soon as Konami will release a more head-to-head competitive multiplayer mode called “Metal Gear Online.” Konami recently details this new mode through a gameplay video that showcases the way it’s played as well as some of the classes involved.

The eleven-minute gameplay video as seen below provides an in-depth look at the upcoming “Metal Gear Online,” which is set to launch on Oct. 6. It delves deeper into the core gameplay of the mode, explaining the three classes, different mission types, tactics and strategies, as well as player abilities.

“Metal Gear Online” plays similar to the base game, “Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain” as it takes on the same control scheme and camera view. It also houses majority of the base game’s equipment and techniques, this means that the learning curve of “Metal Gear Online” isn’t too complicated.

Like many other team-based multiplayer games, “Metal Gear Online” will require the use of teamwork and strategic planning. Unlike other multiplayer games, the key to winning in “Metal Gear Online” is to make sure that one’s team tactic is better than the other. For example, a team could carefully position one player so that he could mark an opponent for the rest of the team to see and then later on, take out.

The game is set to include three different classes; Infiltrator, Scout and enforcer. Infiltrators are best at close-quarters combat so it is recommended that they wear stealth camouflage to get up close to enemies. It’s best that they avoid Enforcers in head-on gun fights as they are heavily equipped and excel in combat. The last remaining class, the Scout, is a well-balanced class that is focused on being a look-out for the team. They could also be used as snipers.

Apparently, characters from the base game can be used within “Metal Gear Online” as well. The footage shows the player using Ocelot and Big Boss in the game mode, Gamespot reports.
