Special edition PS4 designed for "Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain" (via http://www.game.co.uk/en/limited-edition-metal-gear-solid-v-the-phantom-pain-500gb-playstation-4-console-only-at-game-722431)

“Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain” is currently available in various parts of the country. The developer dubs the game as a “Guaranteed Game of the Year,” which isn’t really far-fetched as it garnered near-perfect reviews from many gaming websites. That said, the title could bring months and months of game time for players. There are even some who bought a limited edition Playstation 4 based on the game, but reports say that the console ships with one typographical error.

The “Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain” special edition Playstation 4 has been made available for pre-order months ago. It is available in Europe and Oceania only. The console sports a “Metal Gear Solid V” color theme which closely resembles the bionic arm of Snake. Clad in chromatic red paint with yellow highlights, the console also sports a Diamond Dogs logo on the cover. However, the console may be a little irritating for some as Polygon reports that the hardware sports a spelling error which can be seen close to the Diamond Dogs logo.

The text reads “molybdeum lubrication,” and it is made to closely resemble the stenciling found on a fuselage or a piece of equipment. The typo here is the word “molybdeum,” which should have been “molybdenum” instead. The word refers to a metallic element that resembles chromium; it is also No. 42 on the periodic table. Although the spelling is wrong, the manufacturers got one thing correct, which is the use of the word in the console as molybdenum is indeed a solid lubricant.

Konami has yet to issue a statement regarding the error, but if they do take notice and manufacture a new version, this slightly flawed hardware could sell highly on the market as a rare find. Luckily enough, there’s nothing wrong with the hardware itself and how it functions as a console.
