Microsoft Band Is Now Available At Microsoft Store Retail Outlets
Microsoft Band is now available for purchase through brick and mortar outlets of Microsoft Store. The news about the availability of the fitness band cum smartwatch from the Redmond giant was revealed through a tweet by @MicrosoftStore on Saturday. The first ever wearable gadget from Microsoft has received good reception from the audience.
Windows Central claims that there is no information on how many units of Microsoft Band have been made available for purchase at each store. It goes on to say that the inventories are highly limited. It claims that the stocks may finish soon and suggests the readers to visit a local store as one as soon as possible to avail the wearable gadget. The Microsoft Band is available with a price tag of $199. As of this writing, the Microsoft Band is unavailable for purchase online.
On Jan 2, IBTimes had reported that the Microsoft Band that had gone out of stock in Nov 2014 after its release in October will soon be available for purchase. The report revealed that a leaked memo that was received by one of the employees of a physical outlet of Microsoft Store claimed that new stocks of Microsoft Band was expected to arrive as early as Jan 2. As IBTimes stated before, brick and mortar Microsoft Stores in the U.S. have now started selling the Microsoft Band.
Even though the Microsoft Band is primarily a fitness tracker, it doubles up well as a smartwatch. It supports multiple operating systems such as Windows Phone 8.1, Android 4.3 or newer and iOS 7.1 or newer. A smartphone running any of these operating systems can be paired with the Microsoft Band through Bluetooth. This makes it possible for Microsoft Band users to view notifications on calls and messages on its small display.
Pairing the wearable tech with a Windows Phone 8.1 or higher device allows users to make use of Cortana personal assistant feature. On the health front, the Microsoft Band can provide its users with real-time information on hear rate, skin temperature, steps walked, sleep patterns and calories burned. Other features of the device include 64 GB internal storage and two 100 mAh batteries.
