Microsoft claims IE6 similar to old milk
An online advisory has been released by Microsoft Australia that advises internet users to upgrade their Internet Explorer to the latest version. Microsoft has compared Internet Explorer 6 to a nine-year-old milk that no one would drink.
According to Smart Office, Microsoft stated, "You would not drink nine-year-old milk, so why use a nine-year-old browser?"
Internet Explorer 6 offered a cutting edge security when it was launched back in 2001. Ever since then, the Internet Explorer 6 security features have become obsolete as the Internet began to evolve. Internet Explorer 8 is intended to cope with the cyber crime of modern days with the latest high-tech security features, which is in fact proven by research studies.
Microsoft Australia intends to convince users to switch to Internet Explorer 8 and demonstrated that the browser was able to detect socially engineered malwares 85% of the time, has more advantages compared to the older versions which includes anti-malware protection, malware detection on download, and build in Cross-site Script Filter (XSS), and also bids new features deliberated to protect user privacy.
Smart Office also stated that a variety of online reports discloses that Microsoft's share of the browser market is now less than 60%, while Google Chrome and Mozilla Firefox browsers are beginning to gain share in the market.
