Microsoft E3 2014 Roundup: Rise of the Tomb Raider, Halo 5: Guardians, The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt, Assassin's Creed Unity and More
Microsoft started the annual Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3) 2014 on Monday to great fanfare. Out of all the announcements made so far, Lara Croft, the hot favorite game character from the Tomb Raider series was a surprise addition. Apparently, Tomb Rider series will be making its journey to the Xbox One in the coming year, says CNet.
The tech giant showcased the new Tomb Raider trailer dubbed 'Rise of the Tomb Raider' to the gathered crowd. Although, Microsoft did not reveal much of information in-depth; the title will be launched to the Xbox One during 2015 holiday season.
From the trailer, the title stars an apprehensive Lara receiving therapy after the events of 2012′s Tomb Raider and it is a continuation from there. As Crystal Dynamics puts it, "In the next chapter of her journey, Lara must use her survival skills and wits, learn to trust new friends, and ultimately accept her destiny as the Tomb Raider."
Sources at IGN also said that the new Tomb Rider series will feature epic, high-octane action moments. In addition, the 'Rise of the Tomb Raider' title will take the gamers to various locations across the globe; electrified with exploration spaces and stunning locations.

The other announcements include Xbox One exclusive Sunset Overdrive, which is slated for October 28 release. In addition, Forza Horizon and Dead Rising 3 can be availed from June 9, 2014.
The much-awaited Halo 5: Guardians was the highlight of the E3. The release date for this game is reportedly set for fall 2015. Also, the Developer 343 Industries introduced its Halo: The Master Chief Collection on Monday. This title comes with a multiplayer beta for Guardians. This Master Chief saga can be played on a single console with Xbox One starting November 11, 2014. The other showcased collection includes Halo: Combat Evolved, Halo 2, Halo 3, and Halo 4. The aforementioned games will run at 60 frames per second, and 1080p resolution.
The other games that were showcased on E3 include gameplay demos of CD Projekt RED's The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt and the next title Assassin's Creed Unity. These are set for fall release. Additionally, French Revolution and Tom Clancy's The Division were also announced. Both the games are multi-platform Ubisoft games. However, the release is postponed to 2015.
Also, Microsoft showcased a new fighting title called Phantom Dust. The E3 conference on Monday ended with trailers of dragon-focused Xbox One action game, Scalebound and the most-awaited continuation to the crime-fighting game Crackdown.
