Microsoft to entice more business users to switch to Windows 10
Microsoft is all set to entice business users by publishing a roadmap of new Windows 10 features lined for the upcoming version of the Windows operating system.
The tech giant has designed a new website named Windows 10 Roadmap to list the upcoming features to be introduced in near future.
First spotted by ZDNet, the Windows 10 Roadmap indicates that Microsoft is working on a bagful of new features specifically for business users.
However, Microsoft did not promise any release date for specific features. Neither did the company specify which of the aforementioned features will come with Windows 10 Anniversary update, which is expected in July 2016.
According to Microsoft, the business-oriented features will soon make its way to Windows 10. The Windows 10 roadmap encompasses key features including Windows Ink, Cortana, Microsoft Edge browser, Continuum, Continuum for Phone, Windows Hello, Microsoft Passport and Windows Defender.
In early March, Terry Myerson, executive vice president of Windows and Devices Group at Microsoft, announced the roll out of an Anniversary Update of Windows 10 for PCs, tablets, phones, Xbox One, HoloLens and IoT.
The Anniversary update will bring in biometric security to Apps and Microsoft Edge browser, Windows Ink, more powerful Cortana and more. Since its launch back in late July 2015, Windows 10 is running “over 270 million active devices, outpacing Windows 7 in the same timeframe.”
Citing its sources, ZDNet reported that apart from the Anniversary update, Microsoft is also preparing for a bigger update in spring 2017.
In related news, this year Microsoft is also expected to refresh its Surface Pro and Surface Book line-up to rival Apple’s rumoured MacBook Pro and MacBook Air 2016 models. According to prevailing rumours, the Redmond based tech giant could announce the Surface Pro 5 and Surface Book 2 models sometime in June 2016.
