Microsoft To Hold A Press Event On September 30 in San Francisco: Windows 9 Confirmed To Be Unveiled
Reports suggesting Microsoft could the release of the technical preview of Windows was confirmed since Microsoft is reportedly to hold a press event on September 30, according to The Verge citing people that claims to have knowledge about the company's plan. The Company is reported to have sent invitations to the press to join the company on the said event. The date is still tentative, according to the report.
Windows 9 or Windows Threshold is expected to be launched in its final form in spring of 2015. The expected tech preview is focused on the desktops but CNET claims that according to its sources. The report suggests that users could try out Windows 9, but will need to have software updates downloaded automatically each month. Windows 9 is expected to have changes including the Metro UI, Windows Defender, OneDrive and improved windows activation. Windows 9 is also reported to be incorporated with Cortana and to have a unified Notification center. The virtual desktop feature is expected as well. If it were true, this will allow users to multitask efficiently. The return of the Start menu is expected as well. It could look like the old one in Windows 7 mixed with what can be seen on Windows 8.1 Start screen and the search box is expected to be placed at the bottom-right corner. A list of recent along with the pinned apps are placed on the right side where a mini Start screen with live tiles can also be seen on it. The Charms bar is no longer expected to come with the Windows 9, but the Metro-style Windows 8 apps might be seen on it. Cortana could have its own live tile on the Start screen and it is expected to come as to what is already seen on Windows Phones.
CNET also suggests that there will be another preview of the new OS intended for smartphones and tablets in either January or February of 2015. There are a lot of things to be expected from the September 30 event. The company is expected to release the public version of the tech preview on September 30 or quite sometime after it will be released to its select partners, developers and tech enthusiasts.
