Microsoft Lumia 535 Officially Announced, First Microsoft Branded Lumia Budget Phone Running On Windows Phone 8.1
Microsoft has officially announced the arrival of the Lumia 535 on November 11. It is the first Windows Phone handset to be sold with Microsoft brand name. The entry level handset will be rolled out in single and dual SIM versions in selected markets.
According to Lumia Conversations (previously known as Nokia Conversations), the Lumia 535 will come preloaded with Windows Phone 8.1 OS with the most recent Lumia Denim update. The source claims that the handset will bring integrated Microsoft experience to users who can’t purchase high-end smartphones because of expensive price tags. Hence, the handset features low-end features but still manages to offer better features compared to the older Lumia 530.
The Lumia 535 is also the first Windows Phone powered device to be available with a screen resolution of 540 x 960 pixels on its 5-inch IPS display. It features a low-end Snapdragon 200 SoC which is accompanied with 1 GB of RAM. The internal storage of the device is 8 GB. The external memory storage slot supports up to 128 GB of microSD card.
The Microsoft Lumia 535 features a 5 MP camera on its rear side along with LED flash. On the front, there is a 5 MP camera designed for shooting high quality selfies. As far as photography is concerned, it comes with Selfie Lumia and Lumia Camera app that are also available on Lumia 730 and Lumia 735.
The Lumia 535 measures 8.8 mm in thickness and weighs 146 g and its dimensions measure 140.2 x 72.4 mm. The handset will be available in six colour options such as white, black, dark gray, green, orange and cyan. Microsoft is also offering 15 GB of free online storage space for Lumia 535 buyers.
Since the Lumia 535 is an entry-level device, it is priced at 110 EUR without taxes and subsidies. The source claims that since the handsets will be rolled in selected (undisclosed) markets, the price can vary across different markets and network service providers.
