Microsoft Lumia 940 Specifications Revealed; First Windows Phone 10 With 24 MP PureView Cam In The Making
After killing the Nokia brand name, Microsoft has been working diligently to launch new smarpthones. In the past, several midrange handsets were launched with the Nokia brand name featuring Windows Phone OS. After acquiring Nokia, Microsoft is planning to roll out a flagship smartphone. The rumoured device is the Microsoft Lumia 940.
According to PhoneArena, the Lumia 940 will feature a 5-inch display screen that will support full HD resolution. Even though Corning has not announced the Gorilla Glass 4 screen protector, the source has listed it as one of the features of the Lumia 940.
Under the hood of the Lumia 940 is the Snapdragon 805 SoC, which is complemented with 3 GB of RAM. Another notable feature of the handset is the 24 MP PureView camera on its rear. The camera supports 4K video shooting at 60 fps. On the front, there is a 5 MP camera, which supports full HD video recording.
The thickness of the Lumia 940 is 8.9 mm, and it measures 131 x 71 mm. It weighs 149 g. PhoneArena states that the new camera module on the Lumia 940 is more compact than the camera module of Lumia 930. Both have the same height and width, so Microsoft may reportedly opt for the same kind of chassis for the Lumia 940. Other features of the Lumia 940 include NFC and built-in storage options of 32 GB, 64 GB and 128 GB. It is interesting to note that the handset won’t feature the currently available Windows Phone 8.1 OS. Rather, it will be rolled out with the new and unannounced Windows Phone 10 OS.
PhoneArena claims that the Lumia 940 may not arrive soon. Microsoft is also working on releasing a couple of other products like the Lumia 535, which is set for release on Nov. 12, and a new Windows phablet, Lumia 1330. TechnoBuffalo has referred to it as an upgraded edition of Lumia 1320.
