On Oct. 6, the Microsoft Lumia 950 and the Lumia 950 XL flagships will be showcased to the world. Fresh rumours have revealed that the cost of both the handsets will be slightly less than the new iPhone 6S and the iPhone 6S Plus smartphones.

WM Power User has reported that the after the launch event on Oct. 6, the Redmond giant will initiate the preorders process along with its retail partners. The shipping of the preorders units will begin from Oct. 28. Since both the handsets are flagship smartphones from Microsoft, both will be carrying expensive price tags. However, they will be priced lower than the iPhone 6S and the iPhone 6S Plus.

The expensive pricing of the Lumia 950 and Lumia 950 XL will also include free accessories worth 200 euro (around AUD $313) such as Continuum docking station and wireless charger. Some of the other accessories that will be made available for the new Lumia flagships include Bluetooth wireless speakers and NFC Treasure Tag.

A Spanish ecommerce site, ecomptuer.es, has listed the dual-SIM Lumia 950 for 659 euro (around AUD $1049) and the dual-SIM Lumia 950 XL for 749 euro (around AUD $1175), Phone Arena reported. The listing on the Spanish site does not mention whether the pricing also includes free accessories.

The Microsoft Lumia 950 will be featuring a 5.2 inches Quad HD display. It will be powered by Snapdragon 808 chip and 3 GB RAM. The native storage of the handset will be 32 GB and it will be packed with a huge battery of 3,000 mAh.

The Microsoft Lumia 950 XL will arrive with a 5.7 inches Quad HD screen and will be featuring the Snapdragon 810 chipset along with 3 GB of RAM. The inbuilt storage of the device will be 32 GB and it will be equipped with a 3,300 mAh capacity.

Both the handsets will be featuring a microSD slot, 20 MP PureView technology enabled rear camera and 5 MP front-facing camera. Other common features of both flagships include USB Type-C connector, Qi-wireless charging support and support for iris scanner through Windows Hello feature of Windows 10 Mobile, Windows Central reported.
