Microsoft Lumia 950 and Lumia 950 XL photos surface ahead of Oct. 19 announcement
The Lumia 950 and 950 XL (also referred to as Lumia 940 and 940 XL) are the upcoming flagships from Microsoft. Both are slated to get announced on Oct. 19. Fresh photos of both the smartphones have been revealed by @evleaks.
Evan Blass who has @evleaks handle on Twitter holds a good track record of revealing leaked information on upcoming smartphones before their official announcement. He has uploaded a picture in which both the Lumia 950 and the Lumia 950 XL can be seen. The blue colored handset is the Lumia 950 (codenamed as Cityman) and the black colored smartphone is the Lumia 950 XL (codenamed as Talkman).
Another image shows the Lumia smartphone is connected to an unknown black colored device. It can be clearly seen that two more cables are connected at the other end of that mysterious device. WM Power User claims it cannot confirm whether the handset is really the Lumia 950 or any other Lumia handset.
However, it speculates the purported handset is the Lumia 950 Cityman. It adds that the mysterious black box is meant for Continuum feature of Windows 10 that allows users to connect additional devices.
According to Nokia Power User, an unnamed source has revealed that Microsoft will organize an unveil press conference on Oct. 19 at New York City for announcing the new and much awaited Lumia flagships. It mentions that the Lumia 950 will be costing higher than $600 (AUD $840) whereas the Lumia 950 XL will be priced higher than $650 (AUD $910).
As of this writing, there is no official confirmation from Microsoft whether the handsets present in the image are the Lumia 950 and 950 XL. Nevertheless, the Lumia 950 and the Lumia 950 XL are not poised to get announced on Oct. 19, but also other products such as the Surface Pro 4 and the Microsoft Band 2 fitness tracker are also pegged to get unleashed on the same day.
