Microsoft Surface Phone specs revealed; Snapdragon 835 chip, Windows 10 Mobile Redstone 3 & 4-6GB RAM, leak shows
Recent reports are of the opinion that Microsoft could be releasing more than one Surface Phone in 2017. Microsoft’s flagship will be sporting a Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 processor and it would be the company’s first self-designed smartphone running on Windows 10 Mobile Redstone 3 out-of-the-box update.
According to Nokia Power User, information on Microsoft Surface Phone prototype specs have emerged and the sources have revealed that Surface Phone’s release date has been delayed to late 2017. The information has come from a trusted source. Hence, this could be considered accurate though companies often launch devices with different configuration than the prototypes.
As per the sources, the Microsoft Surface Phone will come with Quick Charge 4.0 support and be powered by a Snapdragon 835 chipset. One of the prototypes is running on the 64-bit Windows 10 Mobile architecture and has 6GB RAM. The device can run X86 apps in Continuum.
The Surface Phone may come with its own Surface Laptop accessory where the 3-in-1 form factor could be the prime focus. The reports suggest that Microsoft could release one consumer-oriented and one enterprise-oriented Surface Phone.
This is because one of the prototypes has 4GB RAM, Snapdragon 835 processor, 64-bit Windows 10 Mobile version but cannot run X86 apps in Continuum. The Microsoft Surface Phone could come with a 5.5-inch QHD Display.
PhoneArena reports Microsoft could release three Surface Phone models running Windows 10 Mobile Redstone 3. This update would be much larger than the Redstone 2 update that is expected to release early 2017. The combination of Snapdragon 835 chipset and Quick Charge 4.0 feature can provide the Surface Phone five hours of power from just five minutes of charge.
Fans have been waiting eagerly for the Microsoft Surface Pro 5 and the Microsoft Surface Phone to be released. Tech enthusiasts have come up with innumerable theories, release dates and anticipated specs and features of the devices. Fans were hoping that at least one of the devices would be released before 2016 ends.
