Microsoft Surface Pro 3 Powered by Intel Core i7 and Intel Core i3 Now Available in the U.S. and Canada; Price and Specs Listed
Microsoft's most-awaited 12-inch Surface Pro 3 tablet was launched in May 2014. Subsequently, the next-generation Surface Pro 3 was released in selected regions in June. However, buyers were able to purchase only the Surface Pro 3 powered by Intel Core i5 processor. According to new reports, the company has launched Surface Pro 3 models with other two processor options in the U.S. and Canada.
Potential buyers from the U.S. or Canada can now purchase the Surface Pro 3 tablet powered the much-superior Intel Core i7 in addition to the Intel Core i3 processors. As the processor names suggest, the Intel Core i3 model will come cheaper when compared to the Core i7 and Core i5 models. The 64 GB model aided by Intel Core i3 processor comes for $799, says Phone Arena.
When it comes to the high-end variants, the 256 GB variant of the Microsoft Surface Pro 3 powered by the Intel Core i7 is priced at $1529. The 512 GB variant, on the other hand, can be purchased for $1949.
As a refresher, Microsoft Surface Pro 3 tablet features a 12-inch IPS LCD display bundled with a superior 2,160 x 1,440 pixels screen resolution. The tablet is 0.36-inch thick and weighs 798 g. Also, the Surface Pro 3 runs on the latest Windows 8.1 Pro OS.
The device is powered by several versions of Intel Core Processors. Specifically, Microsoft provides 3 different processor choices to choose from - the fourth-generation Intel Core i3, the Core i5 or the Core i7 processor options with 4 GB or 8 GB of RAM. Furthermore, the device houses TPM Chip for enhanced enterprise security.
The Surface Pro 3 comes with the following internal storage capacity 64 GB, 128 GB, 256 GB and 512 GB along with microSD card support. When it comes to camera, the tablet sports a 5 MP rear-facing camera unit and a similar 5 MP front-facing shooter. According to Microsoft, the Surface Pro 3 can provide up to 9 hours of battery life. However, the company did not specify the details of the tablet's battery capacity yet.
